The Annual Campaign is the lifeblood of the Jewish Federation of the Bluegrass. With contributions from our generous donors, the Federation is able to serve our local Jewish community and provide programs and assistance to our sisters and brothers in Israel and in endangered Jewish communities throughout the world. From caring for our seniors to providing PJ library books and Camp Shalom for our children, your campaign dollars help us celebrate Jewish life and care for those in need.
If you have any additional questions about the campaign or other ways you can get involved, contact Mindy Haas.
Women’s Philanthropy (formerly Women’s Division) is our community of women in Central Kentucky who are committed to supporting the Jewish community locally, in Israel, and around the world. We sponsor an annual fun-raising and fundraising event for women of all giving levels and educate women about the importance of philanthropic giving in their own names.
Our Lion of Judah women have committed an annual gift of at least $5,000 to the campaign and are invited to participate in the international Lion of Judah Conference every other year.
From new mothers to grandmothers, from lawyers to bankers to advertising execs, there is a place for you to get involved and make a difference.
For information about how to become involved, please contact Mindy Haas.
There are a number of other ways to support JFB with a tax deductible donation:
Special funds have been set up at the Federation for specific purposes. In addition to your annual gift, donors are welcome to support programs such as PJ Library, Shalom, Camp Shalom, Jewish Family Services, etc. Learn more about these giving options by contacting the office or make your donation now and specify where you want your money allocated in the comments. >>
Gifts of appreciated stock or other investments are another way of contributing to the Federation. Our TD Ameritrade account allows for easy transfer and sale of stock at a low fee to the organization. Contact Mindy to learn more >>
Federation also welcomes gifts that honor or memorialize family members and friends. Gifts of any amount will be accepted and loved ones will be informed of the donation. Make your tribute gift now >>
For information about any of these options, please contact Mindy Haas at via email or call (859) 268.0672.
A planned gift is a charitable gift that you can decide now to make at some time in the future as part of your estate and gift plan. It can benefit you and loved ones that you name. It stands as a lasting reminder to your children and succeeding generations of the values and charitable works that are dear to you. With a legacy gift you have the ability to endow a favorite program in perpetuity.
The Jewish Federation has partnered with the Blue Grass Community Foundation in order to maximize the potential of our endowment program. We will be glad to meet with you, your financial advisor, and/or attorney to discuss the many options.
Please contact Mindy Haas for information by email or by calling (859) 268-0672.
Donate your car to the Jewish Federation of the Bluegrass today…
Donating your car, truck, motorcycle or other vehicle is easy!
By donating your vehicle to JFB, you avoid all the hassles of selling your vehicle yourself. All you need is a clear title and we’ll do the rest, including free pick-up. Once it has been sold, we’ll send you a tax receipt and the sale proceeds will go directly to helping those most in need in our community.
Here’s how it works
• Just call 866-985-GIVE (866-985-4483) to speak to a Jewish Federations vehicle donation representative who will schedule a pick-up that’s convenient for you, and provide you with confirmation of your donation.
• If the gross proceeds from the sale of your donated vehicle are $500 or more and if you provide your social security number to our Representative at the time of your donation, you will also receive an IRS tax form 1098C stating the sale price of the vehicle. This amount is what you actually claim on the itemized tax return.
• Be aware that, according to a tax law that went into effect on Jan. 1, 2005, if the claimed value of a donated vehicle exceeds $500, the taxpayer is limited to the gross proceeds of the sale.
