Community Activities

The mission of the Community Activities Committee is to bring together the members of the Jewish community regardless of affiliation; providing a social and cultural environment where people can interact freely - young and old, affiliated and unaffiliated. The committee is made up entirely of volunteers, assisted by professional staff. Past events have included the annual Winter Dinner, the Yom Ha'atzmaut (Israel Independence Day) celebration, free orchestral concerts, steam boat rides on the Kentucky River, summer picnics, and even wine tastings.
The committee is constantly looking for new members and new ideas. If you are interested, please contact the Activities Director at (859)268-0672 or by e-mail at

Among the different programs the committee organizes are:

- Biannual Spring Concert with the Lexington Orchestra

- Annual Yom Ha'atzmaut celebration - Israel Indepedence Day
